The Sportcentrum VU is the home of SVU Volleybal. At the Sportcentrum, people come together. As such, the Sportcentrum also does everything in its power to bring out the best in its members and thus create unforgettable experiences. They have been doing this for almost half a century now. Because of its ties to Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, many VU students and VU employees play sports at Sportcentrum VU. However, a large part of the membership also consists of people without these ties. Local residents from Amstelveen and companies in the area are also more than welcome.
Alumni membership
There is no such thing as goodbye!
Alumni membership is the solution to stay a part of SVU AND support the club so that we can continue to exist even longer and organise the most fun events for our members!
The conditions of alumni membership are:
- - You must have played at SVU,
- - You pay the membership costs €25 per year.
- Membership can only be terminated in writing by sending an e-mail to secretaris@svuvolleybal.nl before the 1st of September of the following year (before the start of the new volleyball season). The remaining months after cancellation cannot be refunded.
- You may participate in any SVU activity except the introductory activity and the introductory weekend. To participate in the International Tournament (IT), you can only join an existing SVU team and only if the whole team agrees. Of course, you can come and support during IT!
- For SVU activities, you may pay the same price as SVU'ers.

SVU Volleyball is affiliated with the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam since September 2019. This is because a majority of SVU Volleybal's members study at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Because SVU Volleybal is affiliated to the Vrije Universiteit, SVU plays in shirts sponsored by the VU.
SVU is affiliated with Sponsorkliks. www.sponsorkliks.com is a website where associations receive a commission for online payments from their members. To support SVU Volleybal, go to the website and type in ‘SVU Volleybal’ as your sponsorship target. You can then make payments on various websites such as ASOS, Thuisbezorgd, bol.com, Mediamarkt and Hema as usual. SVU Volleybal will receive a small commission for every completed payment!
