About the association

At SVU Volleybal, we compete in leagues ranging from the promotion class to the sixth division. Besides the competitive spirit, fun and camaraderie are just as important for all teams. With nine women’s teams, six men’s teams, and one mixed team, SVU is the best and largest student volleyball club in Amsterdam. After training sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings, many SVU members head to the cozy sports canteen ("The Hangout") to chat over a drink or play some pool. Various committees organize monthly activities, where members from different teams also get to know each other better.

LEVEL

At SVU Volleybal, there are 16 teams playing at all levels, from beginners to experienced players. So there's guaranteed to be a team that suits you!

STUDENTS

By students, for students; welcome from both the university and the HBO and MBO. At SVU Volleybal, you play only with peers. And of course, that comes with a lot of gezelligheid and beers!

CHEAP

With an annual membership fee of €231.50, SVU is one of the cheapest volleyball clubs in Amsterdam for students.

Besides the monthly activities, SVU has 15 different committees that make sure there’s never a dull moment at SVU!

All these amazing events ensure that our club has a large group of members who are closely connected to SVU. Additionally, SVU is proud to hold a Guinness World Record since early 2017 for having played a 101-hour volleyball match!

Due to the student nature of SVU Volleybal, we get to welcome new volleyball-playing students every year, and unfortunately, also say goodbye to former students. This makes SVU Volleybal a dynamic club, where no one ever stands still, and every year is different from the last.
